Asthma Ride 2004

On Saturday, June 5, I will be joining several friends to do the 100-mile 2004 Chesapeake Bay Asthma Ride Bike Tour to benefit the American Lung Assocation of Maryland. Last year's event, which I also participated in, raised $90,000. The brochure says that "proceeds from this bike tour help teach Maryland children with asthma how to successfully manage their asthma with programs like Camp Superkids.

As noble as the cause it, I must admit I'm doing it because Patrick twisted my arm into doing it. His barrage and bullying went something like "Wanna do it?" "OK." I was able to secure his solemn promise that the weather would be more pleasant this year than last, when the driving cold rain were more condusive to hunkering down, eating Cheetos, and watching NASCAR.
